Some of the links here are for organisations that I support, along with other lovely people. I use the old tradition of the 'luck-penny' - when I make a sale, I pass a bit along to spread the luck around. Animals who suffer are one of my main concerns, and remember, humans are animals too. We're all part of nature, let's help to look after it - and please take care of Britain's hedgehogs!

World Society for Protection of Animals

This organisation rescues animals in some of the direst and most tragic situations in the world. We support them in their campaign to save bears from the heartbreakingly cruel bile farms and rehome them into sanctuaries. www.wspa.org.uk

The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad

Essential help for the working animals of the world in countries where welfare is often lacking and people rely on their animals to make a living. www.spana.org

The Dogs Trust

The Dogs Trust provide deeply well throught-out rehabilitation and care for dogs, even those who cannot be rehomed. They work with the homeless and disadvantaged children, helping people who really need their dogs to keep them rather than having to lose a dear friend because of unfortunate circumstances. www.dogstrust.org.uk

Wood Green Animal Shelters

A charity that shelters and rehomes all kinds of animals. My dear old dog Dill, no longer with us, was a Wood Green dog, who gave us 13 years of love and companionship. There are so many animals in need of a home, or just donate a few quid to help with their work. www.woodgreen.org.uk

Tibet Society

The oldest Uk organisation supporting Tibetans' struggle for freedom against the brutal Chinese regime. If you vaule your freedom, please take one minute of your time to understand how ordinary people have to exist there. www.tibetsociety.com

WaterAid

This organistation helps the poorest people in the world who have no choice but to drink dirty water and often, to dies from it. 2,000 children a day die from drinking dirty water. Donating £2 a month can help with their priceless work. www.wateraid.org

Hands Off Thaxted Campaign

Entirely voluntary campaign run by Thaxted residents to fight the massive housing 'development' which is threatening out little town, and with a broader agenda of changing the planning regulations for green-field building here. www.thaxted.weareresidents.org
